Joanna started her Flava journey right at the beginning, 2003. Blessing us with her kind energy, we knew she was a beautiful force to be reckoned with, a creative soul.

Joanna has been in the industry for 23 years and has been teaching for the past 19years. Specialising in hip hop and street based dance styles.

Training in hip hop, street based styles & street jazz under the directors, Her passion for street dance led her to contribute endless hours of self training and research dedicated to hip hop culture and street based styles. She has trained throughout Australia and LA, with some of the very best teachers & choreographers in the world.

She has been a faculty member since 2004 and is also our creative design, media, and social marketing director. Joanna is a passionate, creative teacher, teaching across all ages and is currently the coach of our crew Lil’ Flavas and co coach of our mega travel team. She has been coaching crews for 16years as has had successful journey as a choreographer, winning many SA titles and taking out 5 national titles at Battlegrounds, UDO & Evolution with her team Lil’ Flavas since 2013.

She is a resident coach and choreographer, creating and directing film clips as well as teaching at many schools throughout SA, Including primary and high schools, youth centres and full time dance courses.

Joanna has competed in The Flava Crew 2003-2014: one of the most successful Hip Hop/Street crews in SA, taking part in National & International Competitions and winning many titles.

She has performed across Australia in many shows and state and international dance competitions and has performed at many corporate events, starred in “SA Tourism commercial – Breathe” as well as back up dancing on tour for major shows such as: “The Australian Elvis Show”, “Elle-vis” cabaret band and “Lost in Vegas”.

Joanna has contributed immensely in the SA dance scene, creating a home for hip hop/street dance and bringing the culture to the Adelaide scene. Creating events & workshops with Flava and her Business Swag House with internationally renowned teachers, mentors and choreographers.

Her Knowledge and passion in the industry has helped the growth of many Adelaide dancers.

She instills the history and culture in all of her classes. 

She is passionate about foundation and the culture and continues guiding her students “Foundation and history is key, know your roots and celebrate where everything came from. Always a student, there is so much to learn.”.

Her enthusiasm for street dance and her students shines through as she teaches and performs, which is why her students see her as an inspiration. Her love for street dance is endless, and she continuously updates her skills by training and participating in master classes and workshops with renown National and International teachers & Choreographers.

Her experience in the entertainment industry has given her the knowledge and skills to be the amazing creative she is today.

She is adored by all her students and her drive, teaching skills are above and beyond. Pushing her students to the best of their ability. She continues to share her bright light daily.
